TREATING MY ACNE

Hey people,

Long time no post! I’ve been way to busy with uni work to even be thinking about my blog at the moment but I recently posted a comparison image of my skin three months ago to what it is now. If you’ve read any of my previous posts you will be aware that my skin is super acne prone and just before Christmas – it was literally the worst I have ever seen it. A few people have asked how I managed to clear it up and I thought a quicker way to explain would be to write this for anyone to read. This results are from a combination of a topical cream from the doctors and a regular, consistent skin care routine.

Soooooo, here we go.

December: the dreaded before picture. My forehead was also in similar condition.Β

It got to the point where I had tried so many different products that claim to help acne prone skin and while some did make my skin appear less angry, none ever truly got rid of it. I started out by going to the doctors and I was prescribed a topical cream – Duac, of the strongest form due to the severity of my acne. For me, this worked absolute miracles. Application was once a night and to be honest the process was a literally bit horrendous, it wasn’t exactly comfortable and I quite literally shedded my skin. Be prepared to look reptilian and a little bit crusty for a week or so.

This was my skin after a week or so of using the Duac cream.

As you can see from this, the Duac had started to work really effectively and my skin was already looking much less angry. It took about a couple of weeks for my skin to stop peeling completely and once it did I stopped using Duac on an everyday basis and cut down to a couple of evenings a week. The speed of the process is different for different people and is obviously dependant on how bad your acne is in the first place.

After doing a lot of research on good skincare for acne, I adopted this skincare routine which has continued to improve my skin and keep it in a good condition to the point where I have stopped using Duac now altogether. The only time I will use it is directly on a spot as an immediate spot treatment.

March: my skin today after using Duac and adopting the following skin care routine.Β

Here are the products I used below (in order of use):

  1. No. 7 Radiant Results Revitalising Face Polish
  2. No.7 Radiant Results Micellar Cleansing Water / Garnier Miceller Cleansing Water
  3. No. 7 Radiant Results Toning Water
  4. Nip and Fab Glycolic Fix Liquid Glow (twice / three times a week after toning)
  5. No. 7 Protect and Perfect Intense Day Cream

BIG UPS N0.7 AND NIP AND FAB.

I really hope this helps someone in some way! I was so unhappy with my skin for so long but now I feel confident enough to go without makeup – this probably helps in itself too!

Thanks for reading,

Daisy x
