1. PHOTO FINISH PRIMER WATER
There’s truth in the saying that the more prepared you are, the better chance of success. It’s exactly the same with makeup – it’s all about that preparation and finding the right primer and this primer really is the cream of the crop.
There isn’t anything I love more than a multi-purpose product like this. I spritz before makeup to act as a primer, use as a makeup fixing spray or spritz throughout the day to freshen up. I also use this to dampen my makeup sponges and/or brushes to create a dewy base.
I actually find myself spraying it at least four times a day because it feels and smells so good. The most expensive ‘bottle of water’ you’ll buy for sure, but for me – it’s been worth it!
P.S. It’s silicone and alcohol free which makes it very kind to our faces.
2. PHOTO FINISH FOUNDATION PRIMER
Smashbox are known for this primer – it’s award winning – need I say more?
It reminds me of my favourite blanket – light, fluffy and smooth. It’s clear and weightless in appearance, prepping the skin perfectly for everything else we all like to pile on top and expect to stay in place. With this, trust me – it will!
3&4. PHOTO FINISH LASH PRIMER AND FULL EXPOSURE MASCARA
When it comes to my eyelashes, I’m predominantly looking to create volume and this pair is the ultimate duo for doing just that. Combined with the mascara, I find that the primer really helps build volume whilst preventing my mascara from clumping during application.
The lash primer is white in colour, quite thick in consistency and the brush is firm with hard bristles so be careful not to catch your upper waterline, which I have clumsily done so many times (and it bloody hurts!).
The Full Exposure mascara brush is big, soft and fluffy – exactly how I like a mascara brush to be. It feels gentle to apply and I’ve always found this type of brush the best type for creating volume and building layers of mascara without clumping.
Note: The packaging looks different online as mine were purchased as part of a set and not individually. P.S. Thank-you Charlotte, I love them very much.
4. ALWAYS ON MATTE LIQUID LIPSTICK IN SHADE FAIR GAME
When they say ‘Always On’ – they mean it quite literally. It’s a pain to get this stuff off (in the best way). But, what I love most about this product is that it’s not drying, which is rare for me as most that I have tried have left my lips thirsty for Vaseline.
If you’re loving the colour but fancying a glossy, rather than matte, look then I’ve found that lipgloss also works fine over the top.
5. BLURRING FOUNDATION BRUSH
I’m normally one to use a sponge to apply foundation, but I’m enjoying using this fluffy brush at the moment. It has guidelines on where to hold the brush to produce the depth of coverage you’re after which is a really nice little touch. I personally use this for a full coverage, but whatever coverage you are after, this brush helps blur out those imperfections.
